Orchard Hill Landfill helps Coloma Police Dept. replace Kevlar vests

Orchard Hill Landfill and Landfill Management Company were recently featured in the Tri City Record for their work to help the Coloma Township Police Department replace custom fit Kevlar vests for their auxiliary officers.

Chris Phillips with Landfill Management stated, “As a company we immediately saw this as a worthy cause and pledged our support.”

Phillips, who has friends that are officers as well as working with two individuals that are auxiliary officers within the Coloma Township Police Department, took a special interest in making sure they have the equipment they need when they are called upon to serve. Landfill Management Company coordinated the donation effort, and Phillips said it didn’t take long to reach their goal.

“The call was answered by each company I reached out to for donations,” Phillips said, adding, “It was inspiring to see business owners come together to support the community and those who protect and serve us all.”

In all, those that assisted with the donations helped to raise approximately $3,250, enough to replace the vests for five auxiliary officers.

In addition to Landfill Management Company, the following organizations also donated:

  • Lane Automotive Companies in Watervliet
  • M & M Polishing in Coloma
  • Michigan Mold in Coloma
  • Easy Street/John’s Glass in Coloma
  • Krenek RV Center in Coloma
  • The Bainbridge Beverage Company
